OUR INDUSTRY WITH SATISH SANAN Print E-mail

Born in India, Satish Sanan immigrated to Great Britain when he was 16. After college he worked in the United Kingdom for six years before moving to Canada and then the United States. Founder and former CEO of IMR Global Inc., a company that supplies computer outsourcing and software services worldwide. In 2003, two years after selling IMR Global, Sanan, along with Mellon Ventures and BV-Cornerstone Ventures, turned his attention to the health-care industry through a strategic investment in STI Knowledge, a provider of business process outsourcing (BPO) services. Under the leadership of Sanan as chairman and CEO and daughter Chemain as executive vice president, STI Knowledge expanded dramatically through the buyout of several other business outsourcing companies and underwent a name change to Zavata, Inc. The Atlanta-based company was sold for a reported $170 million in September 2007 to Apollo Health Street, a division of Asia’s largest health-care group, India-based Apollo Hospitals. Sanan stayed on as an adviser to the company’s board of directors to help ensure a smooth transition ... Sanan was named Ernst and Young Florida Entrepreneur of the Year in 1998. That award was followed by the 1999 national Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in the software information services category ... Sanan is a member and trustee of Breeders' Cup Ltd. and currently serves on its board of directors.
